TOP 10 HANDSOME BASTARDS OF 2006

What on earth do the media think they are doing releasing a picture like this of Saddam just before he was topped? He looks like a movie star. He could have played alongside George Clooney in Syriana. If this doesn’t make him a martyr and icon nothing will. It won’t be long before we see Saddam T-shirts, lighters, posters, shopping bags. He is a Che Guevara for the older woman. He died with dignity, and looked handsome in death. I suppose if you are a Kurd you might not quite see it that way, but it just proves my argument that if Hitler had looked like Maximilian Schell we’d all be speaking German now.

Here are 9 more handsome bounders you might or might not want to meet on a dark night.

The new Bond: he's hard ....

The original back door man - back door of no.10 that is

A kiss from Zizou could knock you for six

Would you go out for sushi with this guy?
The Special One
(just to annoy Man Utd supporters)

Gorgeous George, a real pussycat
(or is this Des Lynam?)

He has caveman appeal.

My special friend
(he reads my blog you know)

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad - crazy name, crazy guy!

Have you got anyone you'd like to add to my Rogues Gallery? Male or female. Alive or dead. They've got to be evil. Or at least fairly nasty. And very attractive.

George Bush
The #1 bastard

I can't believe George Bush - that has to be irony? This is a serious question Daphne and requires serious thought. Can I come back to you? There's my evening sorted!

Sushi with Putin!!! I love it!
Sorry, don't know any rogues... I'll have to take off these rose-tinted glasses. I might change my mind later.
Hope you've had a good evening.

Anonymous, I already considered Dubya but rejected him. Somehow his evilitude is not deliberate enough. You have the feeling he couldn't pull the trigger himself. Unlike the others. Especially Mourinho.

Pat, I'm sure you'll come up with someone deliciously dastardly. I await with baited breath. Rhett Butler perhaps?

Creamo, glasses of delicious Belgian beer were raised to you (and the late not much regretted Saddam) tonight in A La Mort Subite, one of Brussels' oldest pubs, by moi, Zed, Quarsan and Andy Ramblings. You are in good company - bonne annee !

Daphne now I'm really worried. I finally settled on Rhett - I want to swoon in his arms and be carried up those stairs and smirk like a cat who's had the cream in the morning a la Viv. Are we the same birth sign? I'm Pisces.

Good day, Lady Daphne. What a pleasure it is to update myself with your journal! Shouldn't Christopher Lee be here, either as Dracula or Scaramanga? And how about another competition for men with faces most suggestive of a desire for pinching ladies' bottoms on crowded commuter trains?

you kidnapped andy ramblings last night, you witch.

how's about that hillbilly, sawyer (josh holloway), from LOST ? he's deevine.

Um, Tom Cruise? I think he deserves to be on thew list much more than Zizou! But then I'm partial...

Bonne Annee a tous et a toutes! x

Have a sexy and raunchy Happy New Year!!!

Don't drink and snort too much!!!

Pat, leave Cream alone, I saw him first!

GB, Dracula should certainly be near the top of the list, second only to one other.

Zed, I escorted (frogmarched) Mr Ramblings to his train and then took a bus home. The young man got home safely. Never let it be said I am not gallant. Is Josh Holloway evil? This competition is for seductive bastards.

F:Lux, ditto Tom Cruise. Although he was pretty nasty in that thing about the bloke giving men courses in being bastards. But then he spoilt it at the end by breaking down and admitting he'd always fancied his mum or something.

Banana, I think we celebrated New Year last night, I'm having a quiet reveillon.

Happy New Year to all my readers!

Sharon not dead, only sleeping. He was quite a dish in his Sabra days, I'll grant you that, Dip-Dop. Never fancied Mussolini myself but I gather the signorinas were queueing up to twirl his tassel in 1942. I suppose Stalin was quite sexy in a Saddam sort of way, most girls can't resist a big moustache (and he shot them if they did). I'll have to get back to you on the Caudillo when I've googled his picture. But nice brochette de beaux salopards, and all from the same era, extra points for knowing Franco's full name. Et bonne annee!

What about Augusto Pinochet? Terribly nasty and quite handsome in his prime; experienced 'mort subite' as well (sort of...) just before his trial.

Bonne année, Daphné!
